TPB Hazel Court CGI01

Dandi Hazel Court

This new build co-living scheme comprises residential studios for young professionals with shared amenity spaces including open seating areas, office spaces and a bar.

Integration was tasked with providing the full building services scope. We also carried out a number of detailed environmental design analyses including an operational energy analysis (TM54) and thermal comfort study.

The scheme has been designed to achieve BREEAM Excellent standard and includes highly efficient heat pumps for domestic hot water which use an extremely low-impact refrigerant, as well as PV panels.

With the heat pumps located on the fourth and fifth floor roof, one of the main challenges was ensuring sufficient acoustic protection for the residential areas. To this end, the whole system was designed with a large-capacity buffer vessel which allows the systems to charge during the day, reducing noise during night time. This energy flexibility also allows for the stores to be charged during off-peak energy periods.

We used highly detailed BIM models to ensure the internal studio space was maximised, optimising ventilation and ceiling depth.
